Ep. 6 - Is the Rebuild Working in Detroit?

In this weeks episode we take a look at the rebuild of the Detroit Tigers. First we take a look back at the beginning of the rebuild and the players GM Al Avila has traded away (00:45). After discussing who has been moved, we discuss a couple trades in which Avila may have been inpatient in making the move (01:25). Next we get into the meat of this episode where we discuss whether or not we believe the rebuild is working (02:35). Also, we determine whether or not this rebuild should be a 5 or 10 year plan and why (02:55) aspects like the managerial position, development of prospects, the desperate need for offensive players and power bats are necessary to have a successful rebuild. Next we discuss the remaining players left on the current roster that could be dealt away to help the rebuild (04:50). Following the discussion of trade assets we take a look at whats going right within the system (06:45); the life in Double-A Erie, the promising players on the Mud Hens roster and the 2018 draft. As we close out the episode we discuss what the overall goal of the rebuild is (09:30) and take a look at what other teams in the same position have done in the past. Finally we discuss the fact that Detroit fans must be patient with the process.
